THE LONGEST DAY EVER!!!!!

Today was the day that would never end. The kids and I did have a great day but it just drug on and on and on...almost like it was in super slow mo!

When my father in law as here a week or so ago he bought Samuel one of those battery operated riding toys for the yard.....OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I hate that truck!!!!! From the moment Samuel opens his eyes that is all that is on his brain! "Mommy, Samuel wants to ride Samuel's big truck fast, take Samuel outside Mommy....okay Mommy?????" He mostly refers to himself in third person which I think is cute but in your mind repeat that request 500 times before you have time to go to the bathroom and cook their breakfast.....it is beyond torture!!!!! Then you think the torture will end when I get outside but that is when the fun really begins....he is in his truck and Riley is on her battery operated 4 wheeler and they zip around the yard getting stuck at various locations and I am running from one to the other giving them a little push to get them going again....CONSTANTLY. Then you think surely I would get a break when the batteries eventually die.....NOPE....Samuel's truck has two batteries and he knows that and if I don't put the other battery in he begs and begs....nothing else on this planet other than taking them somewhere will satisfy him or stop the constant begging. (He is really cute crusing around in his first set of wheels...I attached a picture.)

Today my mom came over for an hour or so, she left and after battery number one died I bribed them by taking them to lunch. I let them play at Micky D's until they were actually tired of it. Then we went out for ice cream and then to my mom's to let them play. Even with all of that we were still back home by like 5:00...I told you... the day was in slow mo. When we got home Jamey was grumpy because I pretty much said..."Tag your it...I'm cooking dinner." So he hung out outside and let Samuel kill battery number two for the day.

The kids were exhausted after dinner so everyone was fussy and even the bath didn't cheer them up much.

As soon as they were tucked in I grabed a wine cooler and went outside to take a breather for a minute.

I told my mom that if it doesn't rain tomorrow we would probably come back and play. My mom has a great yard that is almost completely shaded and the kids love the trampoline...but BEST OF ALL THERE ARE NO RIDING TOYS THERE!!!! My yard is okay but completely in the sun so we have to constantly slather up with sunscreen.

I did survive the longest day ever...and now I am enjoying my own personal time!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  1. Hooray for a drink at the end of a long day! Now you're getting the hang of the stay-at-home mom thing. ;-)
I hate riding toys too. I am so glad we never had an extra battery. That would really suck. I hope your Friday whizzes by. I hear we might get some rain! :-)
