Riley's Sweet Reward

Today Riley and I started a "Good Girl Chart" for her.

She can earn stickers throughout the day for good behavior and if she earns three stickers she gets a special reward at the end of the day. If she earns five she gets a special reward and a special treat. ( I also remind her that I have the right to take stickers away for bad behavior....that is the most powerful part of the program. She cannot stand the thought of losing any once she has earned them.)

She worked really hard all day today and she did earn her three stickers. She did a little happy dance each time she earned one and chanted her usual..."uh huh, oh yeah, uh huh" while she shook her little fanny.

What did she request as her special reward....Mommy and Daddy's bed all to herself to watch 30 minutes of cartoons before she had to hit the sack of course!!!!! Staying up 30 minutes longer than baby brother is "so cool".

I had to share a picture of her enjoying her reward. I am tickled pink that this tactic worked so well today. My hope is that it continues and becomes natural without the chart. (The picture is kind of blurry because I was banished from the room so I was trying to be sneaky to get it and only had one chance.)

Way to go Ri!!!!!!
Wish us luck tomorrow!

  1. The mental picture of her victory dance is going to be cracking my up for days!

What a great idea. Note to self: Buy supplies for a good girl chart next time I am at wal-mart.

  3. "uh huh, oh yeah, uh huh" - so funny!
Sticker charts are so much fun! I love incentive programs for kids. I believe the Lenten jelly bean project at our house made my kids mindful of the way they treat others.
